Vasudha Award for Sanjeev Sivan


alayalee director Sanjeev Sivan won the Vasudha award for the best environmental film at the year's International Film Festival of India, IFFI. The award was for his movie ‘Underground Inferno’ produced by News and Entertainment Television, which he co-directed with Umesh Agarwal. The movie shared the award with ‘’Meltdown in Tibet’’ directed by Micheal Beckley. The award amount of three lakhs will be shared between the makers of these two films.

Sivan and Agarwal received a cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh, flowers, an award, a mug and a citation which stated as “For highlighting in an impressive manner with the creative use of new cinema technologies and an extremely vivid narrative, the global menace many countries face worldwide due to the phenomenon of coalmine fires”.

Sanjeev Sivan, the youngest brother of Santhosh Sivan and Sangeeth Sivan debuted as a director with the Mammootty movie ‘Aparichithan’.
