Ram opposite Ileana again

After their onscreen romance in Y.V.S. Chowdary's successful romantic thriller Devadas (2006), popular Tollywood gems Ram and Ileana are joining once again in a new film tentatively titled Tom and Jerry to be directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore.

Vakkantam Vamsi, who wrote the super hit Kick, is the man behind the story. According to sources, Ileana is very excited about this project as she has already given a hit in form of Kick which was also directed by Surender Reddy. The film will go to floors soon and is expected to grace screens in January, 2010. More details are awaited.

Vijay’s Vettaikaran Release on december 18th

Yes Guys it’s official now,the big bang will happen this season, and guess what Ilayathalapathy Vijay is smiling. Sun Pictures has confirmed his Vettaikaran as a Christmas release.Sun Pictures has issued an ad in today’s Tamil papers that the film will release on December 18, Friday.It clearly means that the reshoot that Sun Pictures has asked for has been agreed upon by the producers. All’s well that ends well. Vijay can now sit back and relax as the film will be aggressively marketed by the leader.

Please note for Vijay, Christmas is very special. The film that made him a star Fazil’sKadhalluku Mariyadhai was released in December for Christmas and it turned out to be a super hit.

Christmas is a very good season to release Vettaikaran, as the weather throughout Tamil Nadu will be pleasant, and overseas it is holiday season.And in all probability Vijay will get a solo release, which means the film will get an extraordinary opening.

Rajnikanth’s escapes car blast!

Endhiran is almost there! The much-awaited Rajnikanth film is on the verge of completion of the tiresome long-term filming. Director Shankar kick-started the shooting in September 2008 and has only recently canned the climax fight sequence between Rajnikanth and the villains.

These sequences were shot at an engineering college at Maduravoyal, situated on the outskirts of Chennai. According to the sources, the shot was on Rajnikanth getting out of his car, which was planted with bombs. But while fleeing the coupe the actor got hurt, as the bombs exploded into kingdom come… Rajnikanth was seen limping all over the place and the entire crew including action choreographer Peter Hein were appalled presuming that he was injured. But as soon as the shot got over Rajnikanth, got back to his normal walk, thereby laying rest to the suspicion of him being hurt in the shooting blast.

When we approached the associates of director Shankar to inquire on the release status of the film, they stated that the film would hit the theater screens in April 2010.

Vijay shoots for Sura at AVM Studios

Vijay returned from the outdoor and starts fresh session for his ongoing project Sura at AVM studios. Few days before, a song has been shot with Tamanna for this golden jubilee film of Vijay. According to the crew member, this will be the first song of Sura.

The film directed by SP Rajkumar and produced by Sangili Murugan under his banner Meenakshi Arts, Sura is a fast paced entertainer, based on life and times of a fisherman played by Vijay. The buzz is that Dev Gill, the extraordinary villain of Telugu blockbuster Ram Charan Teja’s Maghadheera is playing the furious baddy role and make his debut through this film.

The films shoot will be over by March 2010 and will be releasing around June 22, 2010. Remember, this is the most important day for Vijay fans… Yes, it is the birthday of the actor!

Vijay as fisherman in 'Sura'

Vijay plays a fisherman in 'Sura', his 50th film. The superstar has already started filming for the flick, being produced by Sangili Murugan and directed by SP Rajkumar. A song of the film was shot at AVM Studios in Chennai recently.

Tamannaah plays the female lead and Dev Gill, who played the high profile villain in the Telugu blockbuster 'Magadheera', starring Ram Charan Teja in the lead, will make his debut in Tamil with this movie.

Vijay has completed his portions for his 49th movie, 'Vettaikkaran', produced by AVM. Sangili Murugan plans to release 'Sura' on June 22, the birthday of the Ilaiya Thalapathi.

Telugu Film stars had recently hosted a grand star night show raising funds for victims affected by floods. It was a star-spangled occasion as not only Tamil film industry’s actors were present, but also many personalities from Kollywood including superstar Rajnikanth, Surya and Prabhu Deva.

Asal bhavana have two duets with ajith in asal

Bhavana, who had an impressive debut in Kollywood in Mysskin’s Chithiram Pesudadi went on to do many films with leading heroes in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She was last seen in Jayamkondan with Vinay after which there appears to have been a dry spell in her Kollywood career. This lull has been broken by her current prestigious venture Asal with Ultimate Star Ajith where she plays the leading lady along with Sameera Reddy.

However there have been widespread theories that Bhavana is not the actual heroine in Asal and her role is not as meaty as Sameera’s. While clearing the air on this issue, this petite actress said, “People are even wondering how I accepted this role because they think that I am only the second heroine. But it is not so. There are two heroines in the film and I am one of them.” Bhavana further added that she has two duets with Ajith. This should certainly put to rest any ambiguity related to the heroine issue of Asal.

Peraanmai in Hollywood

The director of Peraanmai, Jananathan, said that the film is all set to be dubbed in English and released in Hollywood. Peraanmai, which hit the screens this Deepavali, has turned out to be a hit and is raking in good collections.

The film’s success has evidently pushed the director and producer to consider a Hollywood release. Yet another important reason is the market that Tamil cinemas now enjoy in the international market.

Peraanmai, which had Jayam Ravi playing the lead role, was shot in the thick forests in Tamil Nadu. The film was cut down to 90 minutes to suit the international audience.

Sameera Reddy reveals about Asal

Sameera Reddy, who is one of the heroines in Asal, says that she plays an executive that works in the Cultural department at the Indian Embassy in France. Since her role requires her to look smart and chic, she would be sporting some of the best modern out fits, we hear.

Shamita Shetty has voluntarily walked out of the Bigg Boss house after coming to know that her elder sister Shilpa Shetty will be tying the knot with long time beau Raj Kundra on November 22nd. Vikram’s noble gesture

Actor Vikram met the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rosaiah at his residence on November 15th at 8 am and donated Rs. 15 lakhs towards the flood relief fund. The actor is known for extending his support in times of need and his noble gesture is appreciated by all his fans. The amount will be utilized for the welfare of the flood-affected victims. Amitabh is waiting for SRKs reply

Amitabh Bachchan is still waiting for SRK’s reply desperately as the old man wants to be Mr. Perfect on all issues. November 2nd was Shahrukh Khan’s birthday and so Amitabh sent a Sms to SRK wishing him on his birthday.
But the King Khan hasn’t responded yet and so the Big ‘B is still hoping to get a message from SRK. The actor has recently delivered his word to SRK on his Blog and has also disclosed that he is still waiting for SRK’s response.

Sindhu Menon swoons at shooting spot

Nov 17, 2009: Unable to manage non-stop shooting during night, Sindhu Menon swooned on the sets of Telugu film Subadhra in Hyderabad. Followoing this, the actress was rushed to a hospital where she was asked by doctors to be on rest for a few days.

‘I am clueless what happened to me all of a sudden. I was in a hospital when I woke up. Thank God, I am alright now,’ says the actress, who is equally famous in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries too.

fanfare that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar

Last year, it was announced with much fanfare that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar (daughter of noted actor and politician R. Sarathkumar) will make her debut opposite Silambarasan in Podaa Podi. Even the photo shoot sessions went on well. But When will it begin shooting? Insiders say Simbu is so busy with his existing assignments that he has no time to concentrate on anything else.

Shooting for Podaa Podi was supposed to have started long time ago. The film's unit had even secured visas and was ready to fly to Canada for shooting. The music for Podaa Podi is scored by Yuvanshankar Raja and cinematography is by Nirav Shah. The film will be directed by Vignesh Shiva.

However, all hype seems to have died out and there isn't any news about this project at all. Has Podaa Podi been shelved? Will the project be revived? Well we don't know yet! But we will keep you posted with the latest updates!

Poda Podi comes after vaaliban

With so many rumours flying around about whether the Simbu-Varalaxmi Sarathkumar-starrer Podi Podi has been shelved, Simbu himself finally announced that it has NOT been struck off his projects list. The movie has been put on the back burner for a while, though, as Simbu is focussed on completing Vinnathaandi Varuvaayaa with Gautham and then Valiban; only then will he move on to Poda Podi.

When asked if Varalaxmi is peeved at her very first project facing such a delay, Simbu said that understandably the debutante must be upset about this, but also understands that the movie WILL happen soon and meanwhile, she could also consider other scripts.
